Before you Start Building Your Trailer
Before you start any trailer build, make sure you understand the registration and road-use requirements in your state or territory. These often include specific standards for lighting, load-rated components, and braking systems.
Because rules can vary, it’s best to check with your local transport authority before purchasing plans. This ensures your finished trailer can be safely registered and used on public roads without any issues.
Our Ute Tray Range
Building your own ute tray is one of the most cost-effective ways to get exactly what you want for your vehicle. Our DIY tray plans are designed to fit most common tray-back models, including the Toyota Hilux, Ford Ranger, Isuzu D-Max, Mazda BT-50, and more.

What Our Plans Include
All Fabplans designs include detailed engineering drawings for every section of your build, complete with key specifications and material information.
To keep our plans universal and affordable, we don’t include brand-specific part numbers for brakes, wheels, or coupling systems. Instead, our blueprints are designed around standardised components available from a wide range of suppliers around the world.
