Description - Tandem Axle Boat Trailer Plans
Our boat trailers are designed for medium size boats and can be adjusted to suit your boat hull. We have done away with hull rollers to reduce a common failure point and replaced with a skid rack, to give you reliability. Channel section is used throughout the design, which when combined with a coat of hot dip galvanising, will provide a rust proof boat trailer for many years!

Why Choose Fabplans
Fabplans are designed to work with commonly found material sizes and off-the-shelf parts. To make the build process even easier, we have compiled all the parts (Part List) and materials (Cutting List) so that you know exactly what is needed and can effectively cost your project.
Consider this, if you accidentally buy just one extra length of steel or make a single mistake (which is far less likely when you have detailed plans), the cost of that error could easily exceed the price of our plans.
Our plans are packed with research, hands-on experience, and practical know-how.

These are some of the best fabrication plans I’ve worked with. I’d say my fabrication skills are pretty basic, but I didn’t have any issues following the plans. Not only did they save me a lot of planning, but I knew how much material to order and could just follow the measurements to get my cuts right. Thanks Fabplans.
The plans were a good start to provide specifications of the various components. I am building a single axle trailer for a 6 metre trainable yacht. I need to use Independant torsion are suspension in order to accommodate to keel which although retracted for towing still protrudes well below to hull. Leaving clearance for a beam axle would have th boat sitting too high on the trailer and make launching difficult. The project will proceed as soon as I have decided on which IRS to use.
