If you’ve ever thought about building your own car trailer, let this customer story inspire you.
Recently, Hubert took on the challenge of constructing a diy beavertail car trailer, aiming to customise the Fabplans design to suit his needs.
The beavertail design, known for its sloped rear section, makes loading and unloading vehicles a breeze – perfect for anyone hauling cars, vans or 4WDs.
Hubert started with the steel chassis, where he added additional members and full-length strong backs to increase the trailer carrying capacity. Checker plate was used for the deck, offering both grip and resilience against the elements, while LED lighting and electric brakes were added for safety and compliance with road standards.
What really sets this trailer apart is the attention to detail: from the custom detachable mudguards to hinged loading ramps with built in adjustable support legs, every feature was though of with real-world use in mind. Finished off with a splash of black paint, the trailer stands as a testament to good old-fashioned workmanship. It’s proof that with a bit of know-how and determination, you can create something both functional and uniquely your own. Thanks for sharing your build with us Hubert!
